Privacy policy

This page covers the Pluto Studio website and the tools published under it. Each tool has its own section, because they are separate pieces of software and they do not all work the same way. Read the section for the tool you are using.

Everything here describes the versions published as of the date above. Software changes over time, and some future tool may well need to send data somewhere to do its job. Where that is the case, its section will say so.

The website

pluto-studio.com does not use analytics, cookies or tracking. Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, so loading a page here does not involve a request to anyone else.

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes the network requests needed to deliver the page to you, and its own privacy terms apply to that processing.

The tools

Each tool answers the same two questions in its own section. This table is the short version.

Nothing you capture leaves your computer. The extension does not send anything anywhere.

There are two different things here and it is worth keeping them apart. When you press save, the image is written to the folder you pick and it is yours, like any other file on your computer. Separately, the extension keeps a working copy of your recent captures inside your browser, so you can reopen one later and keep editing it.

Uninstalling the extension removes everything in the last three rows, because Chrome deletes an extension's storage when you remove it. Files you saved yourself are not affected.

Which pages it can read. The extension does not ask for access to all websites. It can only read the one tab you are on, at the moment you ask it to capture, and only that tab. It is not watching your other tabs.

Third parties. This version has no analytics, no usage tracking, no advertising and no crash reporting, and it loads no code from outside the extension itself.

How we intend to handle your data

These are the commitments that apply across the website and the tools.

• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to a tool's core functionality.
• We do not use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• Where a tool needs to send data somewhere in order to work, we describe it in that tool's section: what is sent, where it goes and why.

Accuracy of this page

This page is written and maintained by hand, from the source code of each tool. We keep it in step with what the tools actually do, and we update it when a tool changes. Even so, a page like this can fall behind a release, or describe something imprecisely.

If anything here does not match what a tool actually does, that is a mistake and we want to know. Write to us and we will correct the page, and fix the tool if the tool is what is wrong.

Changes

When a tool is added, or when the way an existing tool handles data changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. The section for a given tool is the statement that applies to that tool.
